luthan-hotel-and-spa1Saudi Arabia has opened its first hotel for women only, with no men allowed on the site. The Luthan Hotel & Spa in Riyadh offers upmarket lodgings and a range of health and beauty facilities aimed at businesswomen. Saudi Arabia strictly enforces the segregation of sexes in public under a religious doctrine of Islam known as Wahhabism. 
Inside this hotel, women will be able uncover themselves freely as if at home, and enjoy pool and spa facilities normally restricted to certain fixed sessions. Owned by a group of Saudi princesses and businesswomen, the hotel has been formally opened by Prince Sultan bin Salman. Executive Director Lorraine Coutinho said: “Inside this physical structure, we are all women. We even have bell-women. We are women-owned, women-managed and women-run.
