Wasta is a concept brand and a platform for Design related activities which includes products such as clothing apparel, art prints vinyl wall stickers and other experimental designs based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Wasta is an Arabic expression that loosely translates into ‘who you know’ and it refers to using one’s influence or connections to get things done. However for the brand Wasta, the word is used ironically since there is no wasta in design, and hints to the idea that for designers, their work is their Wasta.
The Products showcase the work of designers and artist from the region. For every collection, Wasta will invite specific designers to submit art works to be showcased. The designs from this collection include works by Artist such as Kareem Lotfy, Omar Al Zo’bi, Maha Al Khalawi, Lewis De Masa from The Brown Monkeys and Hani Alireza.
