The Undersecretary of Ministry of Higher Education for Scholarship Affairs Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Moussa said that 62,000 students have been sent on foreign scholarships during the last four years as part of the Programme of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for Foreign Scholarships.

In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) on the occasion of the launch of the 5th phase of the programme here on Sunday, he pointed out that the ministry has not cancelled scholarships to Britain and Australia altogether, but it has imposed limitation to the current 5th phase of the scholarship programme aiming to balance scholarships among countries, noting that in the previous phase the ministry stopped scholarships to a number of countries including Canada.

However, the scholarships have been resumed for these countries in this phase. Dr. Al-Moussa indicated that there are 19 specialisations in 24 countries within the program.
