Saudi Arabian retail giant Jarir Bookstore opened its first new store of 2010 at the Panorama Mall in Riyadh. The opening of the Panorama Mall outlet, which represents a capital investment of US$2.7m, means that Jarir now operates 28 stores. The company has also confirmed plans to open two more new stores during 2010.
Jarir plans to open a new outlet in Mecca and one in Kuwait during 2010. This will take its total network to 30 stores with five of these located outside the Kingdom.
Jarir has also provided some long-term forecasts on how it expects its network of stores to develop in the year ahead. The retailer is now predicting that it will operate 39 stores by 2013 and 43 by 2015. Jarir’s sales climbed 1.5% year-on-year in 2009 to hit US$671m with profits up 3% to US$99m.

Its a nice big Jareer…I was there a couple of weeks ago…. the mall is nice and spacious… If I saw correctly, its where they will be opening the 2nd LV store in Riyadh, and there is a Trader Vics opening there as well!
